Archive | File an Email and Attachments to Salesforce

The primary method of filing an email is to use the Quickfile lightning bolt on beside your contact name in the Cirrus Insight panel.  This option will file the email in a single click to the selected Contact and Account.  If there are required fields on your Salesforce task record, the file email screen will appear so that those can be completed.

If you wish to add attachments, click the name and then open the A icon beside your contact.  Choose "File Email" from the menu and when the input screen appears, select the location to file the email (the name of an opportunity can be substituted for the account, for example).  Below are options which allow you to select which, if any, attachments to file, and also allow you to select or deselect filing the email itself.  When selections are complete, click File Email at the bottom of the pane.

Once the email is filed, the Quickfile icon changes to an envelope with a check to indicate the saved state.

When you file an email to a Salesforce record such as opportunity, the email and/or the attachment will be related to the contact and the opportunity via the activity history (for email) and attachments and the notes section for attachments.

Outlook Desktop Options

For Outlook users, when the email is filed, a confirmation banner is displayed at the top of the email page. A blue category and mail icon appear with the conversation.

Once an email has been filed, you can click the File Email icon (the Green Envelope) on the top tool bar to show the location where the email was stored.  You can then determine if the email needs to be stored in an additional location, and click File Again to open a new email filing screen.

MultiFile

MultiFile enables filing of multiple emails with one set of clicks. First, select all emails desired from the mailbox (using shift or control as usual to get groups of messages) and then Quickfile or File Email as above.

Gmail Options

Gmail Options Include:

File Latest Message and File All Messages and File Email Attachments.

File Latest Message will file only the current message in the email conversation.

File All Messages will file this and all previous messages in the email conversation.
